A customer in Wetherby recently got in touch when their PC completely gave up on them. No power, no life — just dead. After taking a look inside, it was clear the cooling system had failed, which led to the machine overheating and shutting itself down for good.
Instead of just replacing the broken parts, we had a proper chat about future-proofing the system. The customer was keen on not only fixing it but making it stronger and more reliable than before. Together, we decided on a serious upgrade path.
We swapped out the old Ryzen 7 7000 for a brand-new Ryzen 7 9000, moved from a traditional fan setup to a water-cooled system for quieter and more efficient cooling, and upgraded the RAM to DDR5 5200 for a big performance boost. Power was also given an overhaul with a rock-solid be quiet! 750W PSU, ensuring plenty of stable headroom for the new hardware.
In the end, around three-quarters of the PC was rebuilt — with only the graphics card and storage drives carried over from the original machine. The result? A system that not only works again but runs faster, cooler, and is ready for the future.
